Group Leader Application

CARA Road Scholars Group Leader Information

The success of CARA Road Scholars is based on the commitment and unselfish devotion of the Group Leaders. Without them, CARA RS could not exist. The success of CARA RS is dependent upon Group Leaders who are interested and dedicated to helping young people feel the thrill of completing the Rock n Roll Chicago Half Marathon. The CARA RS program is NOT about your own personal training, it IS an opportunity to help the students, and oneself, prepare for the half marathon.

Group Leader Responsibilities

  • Positive role model
  • Sets behavior standards for their group/students
  • Makes sure all runners are prepared for each run
  • Coordinates their group on run day, keeping their group together before the run and gathering them back at the end of each run
  • Makes sure all runners meet the shoe and half marathon entry requirements
  • Makes sure their runners meet the minimum requirements for training
  • First and foremost…HAVE FUN!!!
