Training Schedule and Locations

CARA RS is far more than just an athletic program. It is a program to teach students to set and achieve a goal. Using the process of training for and completing the Chicago Distance Classic Half Marathon, CARA RS teaches students to set and complete the goals of staying in school, completing high school, and graduating. The results over the years will show improved attitudes, behaviors, and academic commitment of the many young participants. Because of the non-competitive emphasis, CARA RS appeals to many “non-athletes” who would not normally attempt something this challenging. At the same time, the program attracts those athletes who wish to test themselves in a difficult and unique event. The result is a program in which every young person can realize an “impossible dream” can be possible!
