CARA

Running Club Competition

The CARA Runners’ Choice Circuit has long been a source of camaraderie for local runners and within and between local running clubs. Runners of all levels annually participate in CARA Circuit Races to chase personal and competitive goals, to complement their year-long training programs and to enjoy the camaraderie of the CARA running community.  There is no fee for clubs to sign-up and participate, and club team runners are NOT required to be CARA members to score for their club team.

Club Categories:

  • Awards: The top three clubs in each category: Combined, Male Open, Female Open, Male Masters, Female Masters, Male Veteran, Female Veteran, Male Senior, Female Senior, and Corporate.

  • Scoring: Runners can score for their club in all categories they qualify for. Clubs must submit a roster prior to racing to the club scorer (details [coming soon]). Club rosters may be updated through the season, but a runner must have been on the roster prior to the first race they score in. Thus, no retroactive scoring. Clubs send a roster in excel with first name, last name, city, state, gender, and date of birth. Runners do not have to be CARA members to score for their local club. In each category, clubs receive points based on their placement within that category at each race. First receives 15 points, second 14 points, third 13 points and so on. Each categories scores are separate, meaning all points don’t go into a combined total score total. In all categories, only a clubs eight best races scores count towards their final point total. All other scores are dropped. But clubs will score in all races.
