2021 CARA Runners’ Choice Circuit Mid-Season Update


We are nearly halfway through the 2021 CARA Runners’ Choice Circuit!


In case you missed the news, two races have been added to the schedule! The Bucktown 5k joins the Circuit, taking place on Sunday, October 3. The Lincolnwood Turkey Trot 10k has also been added to the schedule to close out the Circuit on Sunday, November 21.


With the addition of these races, the minimum number of races Circuit competitors need to complete to be awards eligible becomes final at four, and the maximum counted in scoring are a runner's 7 best scores.

There are 7 races remaining on the 2021 Circuit! These include:



After 5 races, Andrew Rylaarsdam, Ted Bowles, and Scott Mangum lead the Men’s Overall standings. On the Women’s Overall side, Angelica Guerrero, Mandy Kompanowski, and Jenn Splinter hold the top three spots. Guerrero, Bowles, Rylaarsdam and Mangum also comprise the top four spots in the Age Graded competition, followed by Grace Wasielewski, Michael Brosilow, Nancy Rollins, Keith Holzmueller, Doug Pearson, and Jeremy Ruston rounding out the top 10.


In the Club/Team competition, Evanston Running Club leads the Combined Category, as well as the Masters Men, and Senior Men. Fleet Feet x New Balance Racing Team holds first in the Open and Masters Women categories, while tying Oak Park Runners Club for first in the Veteran Women’s category. Oak Park Runners Club also has a hold on the first place spot in the Senior Women category. Fast Track Racing Team and Elmhurst Running Club have also staked claim to top positions, holding first in the Open Men and Veteran Men categories respectively.
