CARA Awards Party Recap: Club Awards

Held annually, the CARA Awards Party celebrates the achievements of our Chicagoland running community and recognizes CARA Runners’ Choice Circuit top performers, CARA Hall of Fame inductees, and Lifetime Achievement Award inductees. This year, CARA honored several runners in a number of distinguished categories. To highlight these accomplished individuals and clubs, we will be sharing a series of features.

Several local running clubs received top honors this year. Comprised of some of the Circuit’s top age-group competitors, these clubs had many runners come together to achieve team titles.

Evanston Running Club was awarded 1st place in the Masters (40+) Men, Veteran (50+) Men, and Senior (60+) Men categories. They also earned several second-place awards, including Combined Club (males and females combined), Open Men, Veteran (50+) Women, and Senior (60+) Women categories. The team was also awarded third place in the Open Women and Masters (40+) Women categories. Evanston Running Club took home the most awards of any club, earning nine awards.

Sweeping the women’s titles, the Oak Park Runners Club took first in the Open Women, Masters (40+) Women, Veteran (50+) Women, and Senior (60+) Women categories. The club also claimed second place in the Veteran Men and Senior Men categories, as well as third in the Masters (40+) Men and Combined Club categories. A force to be reckoned with, the Oak Park Runners Club was awarded the most first-place honors out of any participating club.

Fast Track Racing Team was awarded third place in the Open Men and Senior (60+) Women categories.

Fleet Feet Nike Racing Team took home first in the Combined Club and Open Men categories. The dynamic racing team was also awarded second place in the Open Women and Masters (40+) Women categories.
