Coach Tim Bradley Elevated to Be CARA’s New Interim Executive Director

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CHICAGO - Chicago Area Runners Association (“CARA”) announces that Tim Bradley has been elevated to the role of Interim Executive Director effective immediately. Having several years of CARA leadership experience, Bradley will seamlessly assume the role to ensure stability and continue to build strong confidence in the organization’s efforts.

“Tim Bradley brings substantial institutional knowledge of CARA’s operations, close relationship with staff and members and expertise as the incumbent Coach and Senior Director of Training,” said Kerl LaJeune, President of CARA’s Board of Directors.

“With the unfortunate departure of our recent Executive Director due to a family illness,

we are keenly focused on the stability and continuity of our strong programming and partnerships. Having Tim serve in a dual role was a clear and natural decision. We sincerely appreciate his commitment and vision for growth.”

Tim joined the CARA staff in 2018 as the Director of Training and was promoted to Senior Director of Training, Coaching and Education programs in mid-2021. In the past three years, he has established the “Ask Coach Bradley” column, improved CARA’s training programs with strong leadership and developed a more cohesive speed training program. Bradley brings a high level of organizational and operational acumen, a drive to strengthen relationships with our key partners and a focus on growth of both members and programs.

Though Bradley moved here from St. Louis, he is a Chicago native with a family background of non-profit leadership. He has a broad range of experiences coaching and managing adult, club, college and youth runners as well as group training programs. Prior to joining CARA, Bradley ran a successful coaching business providing adult to youth coaching services. He also successfully coached cross country and track at NCAA Division-I St. Louis University. Prior to starting his coaching business, Bradley led group training for Big River Running Company, the premier running store in St. Louis and was an Endurance and Speed Development Coach for Nutriformance. Bradley has a Masters in Exercise Science and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. His expertise and writings have been published in Competitor and Runner's World magazines.

On behalf of the Chicago Area Runners Association Board of Directors, staff, volunteers and industry partners, please join us in welcoming the dedicated and seasoned leadership of Tim Bradley, as our new Interim Executive Director.
